Paul James, The Gardener Guy™, Returns as
Official Spokesperson for 2010 National Public Gardens Day

Master Gardener And Host Of HGTV's Gardening By The Yard, To Continue Promoting Plant And Water Conservation, Environmental Stewardship, And Education Through The Nation's Public Gardens

AZUSA, CA (February 19, 2010) – Gardener Guy™ Paul James, Host of HGTV's Gardening By The Yard, will continue his role as national spokesperson for the second annual National Public Gardens Day on May 7, 2010. The announcement was made today by Rain Bird, the leading manufacturer and provider of irrigation products and services and the American Public Gardens Association (APGA), an organization devoted to strengthening public gardens throughout North America.

An annual celebration of the nation's public gardens, National Public Garden's Day takes place the Friday before Mother's Day Weekend, falling this year on May 7th. The nationwide event will be supported by a local, regional and national awareness and education campaign that will feature media partnerships, broadcast public service announcements, local and national spokespersons and media tours focused upon communicating the importance of building sustainable environments through improved plant management water conservation.

"Last year's National Public Gardens Day gave me the opportunity to visit some of the nation's most prized public gardens," said Paul James. "I'm looking forward to once again celebrating the beauty of public gardens, but also promoting them as a resource for education and conservation in their local communities. Public gardens are not only beautiful destinations, but they are a true source of inspiration for homeowners on how to conserve within their own landscapes."

As the national spokesperson for National Public Gardens Day, Paul James will host a nationwide satellite media tour in which he will speak one-on-one with national and local morning news programs about the lessons to be learned by visiting public gardens. He will also be featured in the campaign's national broadcast public service announcements. Paul will also be available for media interviews and studio appearances to promote National Public Gardens Day 2010.
